What company says: OC Eight Professional Mattifying Gel is a revolutionary product that helps control facial shine. The mattifying gel absorbs excess oil continuously for up to 8 hours. The product contains Acrysorb micro-particles that are designed with copolymer technology and work to permanently encapsulate up to 6x their own volume in oil without compromising the skin’s natural moisture. Usage of OC Eight Professional Mattifying Gel will result in an even-toned and shine-free complexion. The product is best suited for those with oily and acne prone skin. (Info from EssentialDermCare.com)
Directions: Gently cleanse and dry the skin. Apply a thin layer of OC Eight (OC8) Mattifying Gel every morning as a part of your daily skin care routine. OC8 has been formulated to work up to eight hours; however, you can re-apply during the day if required.
For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.

My experience: As I said earlier, I received a bunch of OC Eight Professional Mattifying Gel samples from EssentialDermCare.com.
OC Eight Professional Mattifying Gel / sample
Each sample contains 0.04 oz / 1 g of product and this quantity is enough for 2-3 applications. I love that full sized product comes in a tube because it is hygienic.
The texture of the product is great. It's a white-colored gel easy to spread other the skin. It takes 1-2 minutes for this gel to be absorbed into the skin / dry. This gel has a specific smell, which might seem unpleasant to many people. However it doesn't contain fragrance, so I'm OK with the smell.

I use OC Eight Professional Mattifying Gel after my moisturizer and prior to my mineral makeup. It's stated on the label that it's better to use water-based moisturizer and oil-free makeup for best results. You can also use OC Eight Professional Mattifying Gel without makeup, it will provide the same matte finish.
Using this product, I am amazed at the results. My combination skin stays matte and my makeup looks fresh applied for 5-6 hours even on the hottest and most humid days and this is the best results I've got from mattifying products so far. OC Eight Professional Mattifying Gel makes the most shining parts of my face (forehead, nose, around the nose area, and chin) matte and doesn't dry out other parts of the face (cheeks). These results are possible because OC Eight works mechanically, not chemically, with its ACRYSORB® micro-particles that are specially designed with copolymer technology and work to permanently trap up to 6X their own volume in oil. These particles trap facial oil after it comes out of the pores. So if my cheeks don't produce facial oil, there's nothing to be absorbed by these particles, but they don't draw the moisture from the skin. Brilliant!
And this is my FOTD with OC Eight Professional Mattifying Gel.
FOTD / OC Eight Professional Mattifying Gel
I hope you can see how fresh and matte my skin looks, in spite of the aviators and bangs covering half the face (sorry, I don't have a better photo). This photo was taken abour 4 hours after I have applied my makeup and it was very hot and humid day - the sun was shining in between the storm and the air was full of evaporation.
I think makeup primers and mattifying products are two categories of products you can make a decision to purchase based on trying sample sizes because you see the results immediately. What about OC Eight Professional Mattifying Gel, after trying several samples I will definitely repurchase this both for professional and for personal use. I would highly recommend this product to everyone! If you are interested in purchasing, OC Eight is available through Dermatologists and other qualified skin care professionals, and at EssentialDermCare.com!
